Education Ecosystem announced in March plans to distribute $1 million in grants to developers over a three-year period from 2020 to 2022.
The grants were available to developers on Education Ecosystem’s network to provide them with the necessary resources to create new projects for the network viewers. The funding was split evenly across the six categories, namely artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, data science, game development, and programming. However, areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, and programming were prioritized as their demand is high.
This second round of grant funding in Q2 and Q3 saw developers share a pool of $200,000. The funding was reserved for experienced developers who have a proven track record in their fields. Applicants had up to 2 months to prove that they have the necessary skills and commitment to create quality projects on the platform.
Applicants shortlisted for the funding went through a rigorous round of interviews before the best were chosen. Preference was given to developers who had previously created content on the Education Ecosystem although this was not a requirement.
