What is Novi Wallet?
Novi is a digital wallet created by Meta, formerly Facebook. The Novi wallet allows you to connect your bank account or card and seamlessly send and receive money from anyone via Whatsapp. In addition, Novi will be a gamechanger in sending money abroad to family members at no cost.
Novi is designed as a custodial wallet, meaning you do not have to remember any complex keys or worry about your ongoing security. Instead, the Novi wallet allows you to access your funds using a username and password simply.
Novi is currently being piloted in the U.S. and Guatemala, using Pax Dollar (USDP), a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by blockchain trust company Paxos.

How to start using Novi on WhatsApp
Step 1:
In WhatsApp, find the contact you’d like to send money to and open your chat.

Tap the paper clip icon on Android or the + icon on iOS.
Step 3:
Select “Payment” in the menu.
Step 4:
Follow on-screen instructions to log into your Novi account or create a new one.
How to Create a Novi Account
You can create a Novi account using a verifiable government ID such as a driver’s license or passport. However, without undergoing a basic KYC process and providing a valid and verified account, you won’t be able to receive or send money.
After selecting ‘Create Account’, you will be asked to provide personal details, such as:
- Full Name
- Mailing Address
- Email Address
- Date of Birth
Enter all of the above details to complete the application’s registration process.
Verify your Identity
The final step of Novi’s registration process is to verify your identity. To verify your identity, ensure you have a valid, up-to-date piece of government-issued ID on hand.
A valid passport or driver’s license is considered a verifiable government-issued ID.
